BEWARE: Europeanplates.com

Just wanted to share my customer experiences with Europeanplates.com (not to be confused with Europlates.com, a vendor many people here seem to be happy with).

My wife ordered me a custom plate from Europeanplates.com back in late February (6 weeks ago now). We have not yet received it.

OK, that's fine, even though they say that it can take "up to 3 weeks to deliver your order". These things happen, I know. What steams me and why I'm posting this thread is Europeanplates.com's total lack of customer service in repsonding to order inquiries.

First my wife tried emailing them. Nothing back. A second email. Still nada. Looked up their FAQs and there's even an entry there about email!

-------------------

(Q) I have emailed several times with no repsonse, what gives?
(A) If you emailed us 3-5 times in a 24 hour period you may have been placed in our spam filter, we check this often however it most likely will delay
Us getting back to you as fast as we would like. If you mail us 6 or more times in a row, or system will block your email. Do not do it!

------------------

My wife's mails were spaced out over several days, so I doubt they're checking their inbox, sorry. So I looked up their number and address...

309 S Cloverdale St, Seattle, WA
(866) 371-2054

Called it and got a machine that stated "We cannot receive voicemails to this number". WTF?? Why have a phone number of you're not going to answer it and can't take a message?? Last, I tried faxing them a letter to the fax number on their site (206-935-4941) and - you guessed it - it rang and rang with no reply.

Given all these VERY suspicious events I feel I have no choice other than to contact Paypal and ask them to refund my money. Wish me luck!

If you've had good luck with this online merchant please feel free to post it in here, but for me, I'm suggesting you use someone else like Europlates.com - they pick up their phone and reply to emails.

Hmmmm. Sounds like a part time, out of the garage, I'll do it when I feel like it kind of outfit. Thanks for the heads-up!

They have a picture of a storefront on their web site:

Not huge, but not a home-jobbie either (if the pic isnt a lie). I located their address on Google Maps anyway and the 866 number DID reach them - it was just answered by an unhelpful robot. Grrrrrrrr...

UPDATE:

Someone from Europeanplates.com finally contacted me. They said that not having a phone number or answering emails was "standard practice for internet businesses - lots of eBay merchants work this way".

Needless to say, many others do not.

The person that finally answered my mail advised that the package has shipped to me. We'll see how long it takes to arrive. Will keep you abreast.

Well it arrived and it looks great. Weird how it was 3 weeks late and just happened to ship the day after I bitched at them about it... Oh well.

Hey ImagoX...I think more ironic than weird...funny how a little gentle 'reinforcement' gets the job in the mail, eh? Post the pictures when you are ready to go!

I'm not keen on giving money to a business that has no telephone and does not answer emails. Thanks for the information.

I had similar results with VISION BULBS, but they just flat out won't call you or contact you via e-mail no matter how many times you try and contact them. Oh, and I have yet to receive my bulbs since I placed my order in October!

Hmm yes I learnt about these guys about 3 years ago, ordered some frames and nothing ever showed. So I did my $36USD. And coming from Oz I can't just pop down to the shop or give them a ring.

But i did look into them (as i do with any one I deal with on the net) and they seemed to get good write up from car clubs that did group buys from them and this is why I placed thre order with them. I guess it is buyer beware.

Hello,

I wanted to clarify on this a bit. One we are not a part time out of garage company, we are actually one of the largest if not largest business of this type. 2nd and no excusses we did mess up Imagox order but he did not tell the whole story. We where not receiving his wifes mails. Upon the first received email the the order was processed and shipped within 2 days. These type of things happen and we did apoligize, as well he thanked us via email for our fast response and acknowledged that emails sometime to not get passed through. So again I do appoligize for the order delay and realize that this does reflect on our company but I am sure I can earn trust and I am positive our quality is excellent.

As well I noted several of the members who have our plates but have been telling you guys that europlates.com supplied them not our company www.europeanplates.com and would like to let the members or readers know that we have infact supplied over 100 plates to NAmotoring members. As well I would like to say that europlates does in fact supply good products as we are good freinds with the people thet buy there plates from.

Thank you for your time,

Tyler Edmondson - Owner

My husband and I have 3 europlates actually... 1. blumini 2. Firedncer 3. Luv4RFH
We recieved our plates in two maybe three weeks and also placed a late hardware order that arrived in a short 4 days. Great looking europlates, lots of compliments at the coffee shop and no complaints from us! Take a look at my Luv4RFH... It is a replica of my Calif plate... CHiP's are fine with it too!

Thanks Tyler!

Caio!
