HELP!!! Broken Fog Light

Over the weekend I noticed I now have a broken fog light lens on my ’04 MCS.

Questions:
1. How difficult are the fog lights to replace?
2. What’s available aftermarket?
3. Who has replaced their factory fog lights with aftermarket ones and are you happy with the results? Can you tell a difference and which ones did you go with?

I’m open to options since I need to replace one anyway.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Replacing the factory light is not difficult. You have to remove the plastic inner fender liner (three screws and about a half dozen or so push pin/clips) then remove three torx screws to remove the assembly. Reverse to reassemble. I dont know of anyone offhand that has placed aftermarket fogs in the space. It's doable, but space is limited and the shape needed is odd. You will have to fabricate a bracket to mount the typical stud-mounted aftermarket foglight in place of the surface-mounted OEM one.

The fog light assembly can be removed fairly easily from the fender well. It's possible to do so without removing the weel, but much, much easier if you do. Either remove the wheel or turn it to its stops. Remove the clips that hold the fender liner in (these look like plastic screws but are really clips) so that you can pry the liner back far enough to see the fog assembly. The assembly is held in by three screws. Remove the screws and the assembly comes out.

Edit - Looks like Greatbear types more quickly than I do. Although I will say that on my 06 Convertable, the screws were hex head bolts rather than torx head screws.

Thanks for the info.

The best price I've found for an OEM replacement is from Classic Mini. With the NAM discount it will cost $55.48. I called my local Mini dealer and they want $80+ for the part.

Again, I appreciate the feedback.
