Interior/Exterior Doug Whalen for President!!! Gallery?
Doug Whalen for President!!! Gallery?
I ordered my shift **** on Friday and received it today. The image is exactly the way I drew the dxf file from the top, but it's distorted from the side. It's like two designs in one.
I'm really pleased with it. Doug has an amazing product. Not only does it look good, but I love the way it feels when I shift. It seems to help me shift faster...although that could be my imagination, but I really don't think it is.
I've seen some attempts to start Whalen Shift Machine galleries on different forums. I thought it would be nice to have a place to post pictures of Doug's ****....and links to other Whalen galleries on the web...if you find them. Here are some pics of mine. ...and I'm going to post some links that I've found as well.

If you have a custom Whalen Shift Machine. Please post it. I think we all would like to see what's out there. Don't hold back.

and who said taking things out of context isn't fun?
sorry I've been up way too long and tend to be a bit immature...
However, I already AM the president; of my one-person corporation, if nothing else.

It's seems like a lot of the pictures on the web are the same ones over and over. They're all awesome, but he's sold tons of these. Hmmm...18 ounces a piece?...yeah, I bet he's sold at least a ton.
If you have a pic of your custom Whalen...you should post it, because that's what all the cool kids are doing.
Pardon me for a moment; I have to empty the litter box...
My design was copied a couple years ago, by a UK-based aftermarket accessories company, which shall remain nameless.
I still have the edge, though; they don't offer custom engraving.
It looks like an ancient Mayan codex to me. Maybe the great wheel or a calendar? Are you anticipating December 21, 2012?
Or is it the i Ching? I have to go check my books, but it must be one of those two.

So i havent forgotten to stop by your shop, i was thinking sometime today or tomorrow, i havent decided whether i want a poolball or a custom engraved ****
Just call first to make sure that I'm in the shop; I'm having to do a lot running to Honeywell lately.

Keep in mind that pool ball ***** take a couple of days; gotta wait for the Gorilla Glue to set up good.
I think we're very fortunate that Doug is willing to do all of this custom work, considering it's essentially only a sideline to his "real" job.
If you've seen all the equipment in his shop, it would be hard for a dedicated accessories company to justify the equipment costs, and while it would be possible to farm out the actual machining to a third-world country, they'd probably lose the ability to offer quick turnaround on custom jobs. And no offense to anyone that has a "plain" Whalen **** (as if any of his ***** can be called "plain"), but it's being able to tell him the exact design you want and have the finished product in your hot little hands only a few days later that makes buying a shift **** from him such a great experience.

Hey Doug - did you ever make any progress on the hand-brakes?
Nope; no time.
I got as far as a half-finished aluminum prototype, and then my "real" job interrupted my progress.
I guess I have too many irons in the fire.
I'm still hoping to find the time to play with the handbrake idea some more, but I just can't say when it'll be.

It doesn't matter now large you draw it, though. I can easily scale it up, down, all around, etc.

Here's a little hint.
Those shift ***** look nice.
