Removing OEM Head Unit

Can anyone point me to a DIY on removing the OEM head unit? Searched the forums with no luck. Thanks!

Bad BD posting in 2nd gen forum!

Removing the head unit on your 1st gen is very easy!
1) remove 2 screws and "pop" trim panel below center speedo to obtain down tube clearance
2) remove down tubes with 2 torx per tube
3) remove 4 torx holding head unit in car
4) unclip wiring harness
5) drink beer!

One of the easier things to do in the whole interior, seriously!
Cheers,
Ryan

I can't seem to get the trim panel to pop down for me on my 06 MCC. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks, Rye. I figured it out a couple of days ago. Forgot I posted this here.
