I have just fitted my Alta short shifter and recon that the middle setting feels best as the shortest position seems quite hard to shift due to the loss in height of gear shaft.I recon the middle setting feels good and as its position leaves the gear stick shorter than stock this actualy adds to the shorter throw feel.
What do you other Alter owners think.

 

after 2 weeks of driving with the Alta shifter and using all the different adjustment positions on it, i still find the shifter to be somewhat notchy and vague feeling, especially in 2nd and 4th gears.

left it on the middle position myself, feels ok, nothing special though...the shifting hasn't been shortened so much, so my opinion is the Alta short shifter idea is a waste of money/time.
