Interior/Exterior leather interiors
leather interiors
I swung by www.myminiparts.com getting ready for Dyno Day tomorrow
and Peter has added a leather shop. The guy that does the work inhouse is a Bently/Rolls interior specialist. I got to see a customers car that they were finishing up in blue leather and it was outrageous. EVERYTHING was covered in leather, dash, doors, seats, console pilars, ........... The stiching (forget the name) was unbelievable. I had a real hard time getting out of the car.
They are awaiting a car that a guy bought and its coming straight from the dealer to Peter. Peter is doing the interior and then returning the car to the dealer for customer delivery
.
While I have focused on the engine primarily and have a stock interior, I now have to rethink my mod dollars.
PS - did I mention the smell of leather?

I gotta say that performance is number one but I have neglected the MINI in the looks department lately.
Mind you that I will not sacrifice performace dollars for interior but then again I seem to sacrifice everything else just for the MINI!
I gree that some mods in the looks department are worth it, they make the car look good and make you feel good about being in the car....
that is why I just had the car dropped off today to get the headliner and pillars done in black suede. to top it off they are removing all the seatbelts and smoothing out the pillars for those since I use harnesses anyway and I removed the back seats a long time ago...
When I get back I will post pics of the new interior....
Go for it!!!
Nothing like the smel l of fresh cowhide!

I love the leather dash and down tubes. I will contact MyMini eventually about doing it.
If I ever get done with the rest of the car.
I'm right with Chris, I can't sacrifice performance dollars for interior mods.

They have some amazing stuff there! I got a steering wheel glove from them. It is basically the same as their $220 steering wheel that comes pre-wrapped, but you get to do the wrapping. It is a PITA!!, but for $35, it was more than worth it, and it looks wonderful.
The dash was awesome! On the downtubes they run a line of stiching on the front edge that was really cool.
I was blown away sitting in a MINI bently interior.
