I wanted to know if this could be done by yourself instead of paying $$$ to the dealership to di the installation. If it is easy, is there any place on the net that shows a How-to step by step?

if you don't have huge hands this should be pretty easy!
do a search in the forums here, that's why the search is there!

This is a very simple install if you don't have the Sport Package on an MC.
The spoiler impedes the removal of the red, high center mount, brake light (discussed in another thread), but can be done with a helping hand, strong ones at least.

If you get just the white rear tail light kit (2 lenses), it's just a matter of remove and replace. Same with the 3 lens kit (includes HCM brake light) except for the MC with Sport Package......which requires some "elbow grease" to move the spoiler.

You can do this install and save your $$$. Search for the white brake light forum for the 'how-to'.

There is a thread now on the mini2 site discussing the white tail lights.
One person said they talked to the dealer and that a new wire change was needed with the white tail lights that would allow the lights to be more red than pink in color.
See http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...p;pagenumber=2
The wires must be in the expensive installation kit. Which I did not use. I jumpered the wires and now my top red light is on solid red whenever the lights are turned on and the bottom red is more of a red/pink/amber and when you press the brakes then it turns red and the top red light stays the same. i must have jumpered it differently from the method below because in that one the top and bottom red lights are supposed to both be off until the brake light is hit then they both turn on.

For adding the mod to turn on the top brakelight see this site to download the pdf

For adding the rear reflectors see this pdf
