Interior/Exterior Sheepskin sideless seat covers
#1
Has anyone had any luck finding sheepskin seat covers that work with the airbags. I called one company that makes 'sideless' covers, but they do not make them for the Mini. I would like some of those thick, cushy covers. I've had them on my Explorer for years and really like them. Yeah, I'm a wuss for comfort........
Two questions: 1. Any sheepskin seat cover owners out there? 2. Are the Mini seats used in any other BMW car (maybe I can just get covers for those seats...)
Thanks for the help
David

I want to put sheepskin seat covers in my car, too. What do you think of these? <http://www.sheepskinproducts.co.nz/p...covers.htm>

Bird,
I would watch the seat covers with the "stretchy backing". I had some for my Explorer and they wore out pretty quickly. I think that this time I'm going to make sure that I get a different backing material on the wool.
I heard that full leather backing does not allow the seat below to breathe and that can cause problems from the oil in the wool. I am still researching this, but I will post what I find. Thanks for the link, and let me know what else you turn up!

So, aren't those elastic straps stretch around the seat? This is what you had problems with? Couldn't you just sew new elastic on when it gets old? I appreciate learning about your experience David. The sheepskin has to have a leather backing or it wouldn't be a sheepSKIN. But maybe you could put some type of cloth over that. I expect the tanning job makes a difference. I have sheepskins around the house (I'm a sheep farmer) and have never had trouble with staining. Will ask some of my sheep colleagues about lanolin staining. BAAAAAA!
