I agree, considering the similar M-Technic for the M3 is $124.95

Or $189 in Carbon Fiber!!!!

I love their sales pitch; "This lip is the missing element discarded by the german engineers for cost containment." The $295 asking price is the proof?

I like it as well, but agree that they are a little too proud of it.

I dont like that company.

They seem to try and pass off alot of stuff as something real special.

A shift **** and a badge for almosy $100 bucks? you have gotta be kidding me.

Give it time, they will go under with stupid prices like they have listed.

realistically speaking

I am not trying to defend PaloUber but in all honesty if this piece is made out of ABS or PP plastic the tooling would be in the 10,000 dollar range so how many pieces do you have to sell in order to break even and then make profit. Just throwing it this out for consideration.

In that case you are talking about $10,000 / $295 = 33.89 units.

I hope that answers your question.

Just for a little add on here, one of the many fireballed team cars has a lip on his spoiler exactly like this one. I saw it at the Monterey Historics. So I think someone else will be selling them soon. But who knows. Also, Palo Uber has a NAM price of $275, but that is still steep.

That would be very interesting if they are. Please post what you find.
When somebody comes up with one that keeps the rear window clean I'll buy it.
That would be a rear diffuser in conjunction with a better-designed wing to break up the vacuum behind our MINI’s.

You are exactly right!! I have paid $10,000 for tooling on things much smaller.

It cost's money to make things. And if no own makes another one you own the market and can set the price. I agree that the price is high. But I go go back to my statement that if no one else has one what choice do you have if you like it?

Palo Uber's art is overpriced crap and consequently so are most of his MINI pieces.
IMHO.

Not trying to challenge anyone here, but they don't really need to buy the machine and make it themselves right? Can't they just pass their design to some manufacturers for production?

If I were to go the "bling wing" route, I think I would do this one first. "Only" $275.

But I will probably go with the only functional wing I know of...
