I have the original 2-spoke wheel, which I love design-wise, but the thought of JCW wheel w alcantara is gettin my panties in a knot. Assuming I can get a hold of a 3-spoke center piece with undetonated airbag, can I swap in a JCW wheel? Any gotchas?

The JCW steering wheel doesn't come with spoke covers. You'd have to purchase those as well (either standard plain silver, or with multifunction buttons, or JCW carbon fiber).

 

Thanks, rkw, but that seems like a pretty minor issue. I think those pieces are just a few bucks a piece. Any other considerations?

 

I posted the same question in interior/exterior forum and someone stated that the controls on each are not the same. So some of the controls may be a little different if you have the MFSW option. If thats the case you could always wire the old controls to the buttons that are on the control but they just might not be labeled correctly in the end. Fine for you if you are used to it but it might confuse someone if they go to mess with your controls.
