Looks good.

Question:

Is the knee pad put on with 3M tape or something along those lines??

Very interested in the armrest...how easy was it to install and how durable does it appear to be?

I bought this and installed it last night. However, the top cover is not secured so that when I flip it up it opens and spills the contents into the back footwells. Surely that can't be right...does yours have a latch or some mechanism to keep it closed?

I'd hate to have to remove and replace it if it is in fact defective...last time I did that the attachment holes did not line up.

Seeing that there are no holes in the area where the arm rest is mounted, did you have to drill holes?

If you drilled holes are they drilled into the floor area or into the parking brake console?

How solid are the attachments, what kind of screws are used?

Does the arm rest cover the rear cup holder or does it interfer with it?

4 self tapping screws go into the parking brake console. Probably won't hold if someone grabbed and yanked it but pretty secure for normal usage. My concern is if the armrest WERE suppossed to have something (latch) that this one doesn't, it probably means that I have to remove and replace the whole thing...then the screw holes I had to drill may not line up.

I'm just curious if others who bought this unit have the same issue

There is not latch. I just don't 'throw' the armrest up, but lift it slowly. I never drive with the armrest up and only carry store small, light items in it. I love it for holding the motorola radio I use on Mini runs when we are a stop in the run.

I don't "throw" mine up either. No matter how slow it goes up, when it reaches the top the lid falls open. There is ZERO resistance. Very annoying. I will most likely mount some magnets inside. The other issue is that the whole armrest also has no resistance to lifting (no detent or catch) so if I make the lid "stick" then I will need two hands to open it...one to raise the lid and the other to hold the armrest down. I cannot in good faith recommend this armrest as it is.

edit: The seller contacter me rather quickly offering to help resolve the issue. I went back to the car and inspected it closer. It does appear to have magnets to hold the lid closed, but they don't always seem to grip. I'm a little perplexed as to why, but it does work better than I first reported...most of the time.
