I know that Moss has a wiring kit for an additional $130 that allows you to set them up without having to solder (sp?) them back in or rewire. If I was going to go clear, that is the route I would have gone.

I've noticed virtually no loss in light emission. Here is my car with just the lights on, no brakes. You can clearly see the light, even durring the day.

>>Albert your car looks great! Is that a black gas cap? Where did you get that if you don't mind!
>>
>>Craig

Yes, good eye Craig! I actually had that cap professionally painted, along with the side grilles.

>>Does anyone know how much dimmer the lights would be if I were to tint them?

Once you hook up the rear fogs as part of your brake lights, the visibility issue is no longer a problem in my opinion. Even during daylight, the light from 5 different bulbs (including center light) provides plenty of light.

It may be just me, but why does everyone want to tint tail lights. You cant see them in the day light and they are way too dim at night. I connected my rear fog lamps to brake lights ( for more light ) because I want the person behind me to see me stopping.

See....I love how they look on Caddman's MINI, but I honestly think that since I will have shadow stripes on the boot as well that I think the tinted will look better. I always said that I was going to tint my taillights when I first got my car, and it was actually Caddman's car that threw me off from that!

Did you even look at the picture I posted with just the parking lamps on? You can CLEARLY see the lights, even in the daylight. Have you ever seen this on a MINI in person? You may be thinking of the spray tint some ricers use that gets progressively darker the more you spray on.

And yes L, I do have the "taillight mod" as written up by Sarcux. Maybe I'll take some shots with the brakes on tonight to show y'all.

LMini, don't worry about it. It's sofa-king-easy, you'll wonder why you ever even waited.

Thanks, ya'll! I sent an email to mini-rolls this morning because I AM going to do that taillight mod as well as the tint. (It looks great together and thanks for the pics!)

I figured that the kit would be the best way to go....I am electrically challenged and I need to make it as easy on myself as possible.

Ryan, did you tint the center light too? If I had to guess from the pictures, I would say no, but it's hard to tell. If not, have you considered it? ...Maybe using Nobull's method? Just curious.

Davbret,
Thanks for the pics. I'll be tinting mine this weekend. I'll post pics when I'm done.

Since the stock wing covers the third brake light, I decided to not tint it. My car is lowered so chances are people are going to see the bright LED stop lights more than the lower ones.

^ ^ The drop on your MINI looks great. I am sure I will be asking you lots of questions right before I do my suspension!
