Squares on curves can look strange... I like the curved checkers because from the front they look square, but are really anything but!

 

Okay guys! updates on MY R56 mirror covers! i actually used your template (which did not work whatsoever haha) but anyways, i ended up using some saran wrap as well as using a rubber band, string and a dry erase marker to make a template..

 

Here are my pictures.. I will be putting up a template as soon as this works out.

FYI, this is for an R56, the OP made it for the R53/50.. so stay tuned R56ers!!

 

Umm, can't see the pics, but I want to! Sorry my template didn't work, R53 and R56 mirrors are quite different, and (I think I mentioned it above) the template was more of a guide than a "bolt-on", everything needed some work to get it right. It's neat, though, just looked at my car again yesterday (go figure) and from the front they're nice neat rectangles...

 

...and while they've held up well, it may be time this summer to change from black vinyl checks on silver, to black REFLECTIVE checks on silver. During day, the reflective vinyl looks metallic and at night it'd really be something... stay tuned!
