Now I'm starting to wonder if the seats in my '04 MCS have the heating elements in them. Too bad the car is in California, and I'm in Alaska...

So where does this plug into? I do not see any extra plugs under mine. Can someone with heated seats take a pic under their seats so we can see the plugs?

the pdf has a drawing on page 11 which shows that it plugs into the seat just to the side of the forward/rear adjustment handle on the seat base.

to followup myself, I went out and took a close look at my seats.
2006 MCS hardtop.

There are 3 wire bundles and connectors (yellow=seatbelt, blue=airbag, black=airbag)
THere would be a 4th if I was setup with heater elements in the seat.
Drat, I guess I'll have to do it the hard way.

Hey guys, It is very possible that English Panther Leather Seats only come with prewired heating system. I'll post pictures of the free plugs I have under my seats.

No word from the dealer yet.

"Bun warmers" are great

Never thought much of heated seats until my wife ordered them in her 2005 Honda CR-V. They're definitely worth it - especially on cold winter mornings. We made sure to order them on our 2006 MCSa.

Would love to see a picture of connectors on heated seats. Hate to pass up the opportunity to heat mine for the winter.

It's getting cold out there! Does anyone know if we do all have heated seats? A picture of heated seat connectors would really be helpful.

Hey guys, I searched in realoem.com and found these parts: harness and switch. I am faxing these to my SA and see what he says.

Well I just checked underneath the seats of my MCS... Seats don't have an extra connector for the heater elements. :(

2004 MCS, Panther Black/Lapis gravity leather.

I have heated seats and they rock! My GF doesn't have them in her MINI, but would really like them. Nice Sig Unka J.
Cheers,

I have heard of retrofitting the seats that didn't come with the heated seats option. A friend of mine ordered it with heated seats but at delivery, to his suprise, no heated seats. The buttons were missing. Without replacing the seats, they installed the heating option but not sure what they did.

From a manufacturing standpoint, it would make sense to just make one seat with all the heated elements.

Let us know what the MA or SA says. From someone who wished he had heated seats, I wouldn't hesitate to get that installed if possible. Almost seems like a do-it yourself kind of job.

Not sure if this is helpful, but on my 03 Cooper (WITH heated seats), there are 4 connectors: yellow, blue, and TWO black. In pictures i've seen of others WITHOUT heated seats, there are only a yellow and a blue connector. Based on that, I always assumed the two black connectors were for the heaters in the seat bottom and seat back.

I have no idea if things are different on the newer MINIs.

After reading this thread I checked my English leather seats in my 06. There are 4 connectors on the driver side and 5 on the passenger. A yellow, blue and black are connected on both sides with an additional white on the passenger side. I assume the white connection is for the passenger airbag sensor. There is an empty black connector on both sides. Would this be the heated seats option?

Here's a shot of the passenger side.

*jealous*

Yep. Those would be the connector for the heater elements. Go get yourself the heated seat wiring kit, and get those bad boys operational!!

Yep, it was in and out of production dependent on type of seats order with your MINI. If you have the extra plug, then it can be done.

MINI gave most seats the heating element / plug pre-installed 12/2001- . Its was in and out with the seat productions. But its good to check:
Note : You will have to check under your MINI seats ( passenger and driver towards the front under the bottom cushion) to see if the extra seat plug/ empty plug socket is there for this upgrade to work.

Part number 61110145996 is the full kit:

http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/61110145996/

And here is some more info about the heated seats and the retrofit install.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-retrofit.html

Also there are some inline plugs that are for people who have the heated seat retrofit installed or have the full heated seat button/ heating elements from the factory as ordered with there MINI. Or possible installing them then can set them hotter or cooler then stock. I have the hotter wire adapter as I prefer them a little hotter.

Here is the SI M 610104 if anyone needs it attached.

Adapter Wire For Cooler Seat - Priced Each Part # 61100152025

&

Adapter Wire For Warmer Seat - Priced Each Part # 61100152026

Thanks and hope that helps.
