Mini trailer hitch installation

I am VERY interested in purchasing the hideaway trailer hitch rather soon, as I'm trying to get some serious mountain biking in before the season is over!

Installation LOOKS like it's a breeze, but is it actually? The part I am most worried about is realigning the bumper when it is time to reattach it. Is that an issue at all? Also, are the plastic snaps that hold the bumper on easy to break?

Just an FYI, we now include 2 of the plastic rear fender clips in your package in case they get broken (and sometimes they do) as an added bonus! I need to post this on our site. Sorry.

Oh cool! I didn't know you were on this forum . The plastic snaps aren't really a concern for me. What IS a concern is realigning the bumper. Is it an issue?

Actually, the cover is very easy. Mini has 3 black plastic alignment grooves, 2 under each side rear light and one in the middle with a slot for the cover to fit into. As for the aluminum substructure, there are 8 holes to mount it. If you get it crooked, all 8 bolts won't go in. So, alignment isn't an issue on this.

My install was a breeze -- for both the hitch and 4-way flat wiring harness. The instructions were easily to follow; however, I didn't have to remove the rear wheels to get to the fastners.
