PIAA Driving light without drilling holes?

Hi, I am wondering if there is any way to install PIAA driving light without drilling holes.
Any idea?

my guess is no. YOu need something to mount the brackets to, the holes are not pre-drilled. I just used a set of PIAA brackets for a Hella Light install - the hole drilling is not bad at all.

you can always get these. http://outmotoring.com/mini_cooper_d..._brackets.html

But it is a bit expensive and changes the location but you don't have to drill a hole through the hood.

You will still have to drill a hole but it's through the lower plastic grill and that is pretty easliy replaceable.

Have no fear yogaII. The hole drilling is easy, as long as you use a sharp bit and go slowly. There is enough space between the inner part of the hood and the outer bonnet to do this without poking a hole all the way through. Check the sticky on this forum for some really good instructions, too.

Here is a trick I used when Drilling into the hood. Take masking or electrical tape. Measure down from the tip of the bit and give yourself a half inch or less. At that point wrap the tape around the drill bit a few times. Now when you drill the hole ang break through, hopefully that will stop you or at least help prevent you from hitting the underside of the hood and causing a ding on top.

good luck

the trick i did was to tape a 1 inch square (or so) piece of 1/8" steel ot my finger and put it behind where the drill bit was going to end up. drill hit the steel, you know to stop, doesn't go into finger or hood...

Also, have some one hole the hood tight while you put a good center punch on the spot you want to drill. Use a good sharp bit - golden!

enjoy!
