Does anyone know if i can replace the whole headlamp with a xenon headlight housing if my car came with no xenons. if so do i have to cut and splice the harness at all or is it plug and play.

Xenon retrofitting is going to be very expensive to do correctly. You have to have the new housing, the xenon bulbs, the ballasts, the leveling motors, the washers, the washer reserviours, and the harness. It would be non-trivial to do a retrofit factory type installation.

Since the headlights are in the hood ("bonnet&quot, you might try to buy a complete hood unit with the lights and motors installed from an MCS that was totaled from the rear or side. You'd still need the washer tank, but that probably would not be too difficult to install. Do that, paint the hood, and you'd be good to go.

Could still be expensive, but probably not as bad as buying and retrofitting all of the parts from scratch.

i know it is expensive , but i can get a set of complete headlights with the ballasts and all. i dont care if the washer part doesnt work. i just need to know if the harness going to the headlight is different on the non xenon cars.

Suprchrdg... I don't know if the harness is the same or not. My guess is that the there are some differences in wiring, but at some point not too far back from the lights and motors, the "harness" is the same.

But I fear that you're forgetting that the leveling motors and the washers are REQUIRED to make the lights street legal on the MINI. We've been through this subject before on MCO... there are more to Xenon lights than the bulbs (and ballasts). The Xenons are an entire system and in order to work properly need to be installed that way.

IMO, the MINI Halogens are so good, it would be very hard to justify the retrofit costs of the xenons. That's not to say I don't like my xenons, because I do.
