MINI bra?

I'm looking at the Colgan bra from MiniMania for the MCS. Do any of you have one, and if so, how do you like it?
The yellow really shows up the bug splats!!:impatient

I bought a bra from my MINI Dealer when I took delivery and it worked great. Its a 2 piece that covers the front bumper and then the one on the bonnet goes all the way up the center of the bonnet so it has great protection. I ened up getting clear bra as well but when the bugs are bad or I am on a long road trip I usually just use the bonnet part. I have yet to install the lower part . There are a couple of pictures in my gallery with it installed. The quality of the pictures are not the greatest. Good luck!

The Colgan bra is fine. I use it only on long road trips. At higher speeds in windy conditions, there may be a minor amount of vibration/flap near the headlight. Always remove immediately after a trip...it's very easy to trap debris under the edge of the bra...and that's trouble if you leave the bra on for any length of time!!

Otherwise, go naked (or clear bra).

I have the Colgan and it works great. It did a wonderful job while on drive from KC to Las Vegas. It has also saved me a lot of paint chips from construction on I-70 this summer. It did take them a long time to ship so make sure to order in advance if you need it for a specific time.

I agree - the Colgan bra is the best on the market, but don't leave it on long term or you'll end up scratching your clear coat - I'm speaking from experience here. I have a CR S and love the additional black up front, as well as the extra protection. But if the underside top edge of it gets dirty and you are cruising at highway speeds or better, vibration will get the area where the fenders dip down flapping enough to scratch.

I have the OEM mini bra and the Cal Bra. The Cal bra is better quality. As stated already, you have to remove and clean bi-weekly as they both collect debris from the road. I have a friend that has the colgan and he wishes he would have bought the Cal after seeing mine. I would suggest 3 coats of wax min as the cal does flap around the head light just like the colgan

I had the colgan as well. If you are looking for something to use everyday, I would not go the route of the colgan (or anything but the clear). The colgan works great for road trips, but as pointed out, take it off as soon you get to your destination. Things will get trapped around the lights and start scratching the clear coat.

I've had both the colgan type vinyl bra and the "clear bra" and would never do anything but clear bra again. As others have noted, the vinyl bra traps moisture, dirt around edges, etc., and is a PITA to put on and off (and store). Latest generation of clear bras are virtually invisible and protect you from chips, bug splatters, etc.

Also had the 2 piece Colgan Bra for my now departed MC...They both fit and did their job well...(There are better prices around than MM...do a google). I now have the MCS version

As the others said. I always remove it after a trip and only use it for the trip. It is soft and goes on easy but they do trap dirt and moisture. ALSO MAKE SURE THE BONNET IS CLEAN OF DUST AS WELL AS THE BRA BEFORE YOU PUT IT ON! btw: MINE IS JUST ABOUT SKIN TIGHT AND DOES NOT FLAP AT....any speed I have tried

For the $$ it is fine...AND A GOOD FIT

Thanks for the replies!! I'm just looking for something to protect the front from bugs and chips when we drive on nice days, so I think the Colgan should work well.
