Someone with a service manual: WIRE COLORS PLEASE

Can someone with a service manual answer a question for me please?

There are two wires leading to the foot well lamps, both brown, one with a yellow stripe and one with a black stripe. The dealer told me "on MINIs and BMWs, the ground is the brown wire", but did not mention a stripe. Can someone please confirm for me that the brown with yellow stripe is positive and brown with black stripe is ground?

Thanks!!

From: A street address or space indexing system.
I saw this thread earlier this 'morn
and noticed you still dont have
a reply. Well, I'd bet you would be
safe to assume that the brown/black
is the ground. They're both
universal colors for a ground wire.
Me, I'd take the risk. Its up to you.

From: Dover, Fl
qwertmonkey assumed right. Brown wire with black strip is earth/ground. Looking at my service manual it shows BR/SW is earth/ground. Here is the code for the colors from the service manual.

Wiring color codes:

BL=Blue
BR=Brown
GE=Yellow
GN=Green
RT=Red
SW=Black
WS=White
VI=Violet

Awesome... that's what I THOUGHT would be the case, but I didn't want to be grounding a live wire, obviously.

Thanks VERY much!!
