Is everyone who has applied the film to their headlights happy with the result? Mine are still a bit foggy, but the instructions say that it can take up to several weeks for them to clear.

Thanks!

I had the same worries. It took quite a while for them to clear up, but they eventually did. I would say it took about a month or so. Now they look fine though.

I did have some problems with the foglight protection getting burnt. Apparently, the alcohol-water solution used for the wet application has a low boiling point. So, it boiled and burnt them. I talked to X-Pel. They sent me a new pair and suggested I try a dry application. I did that and no signs of burning.

Just wanted to resurrect this topic. I'm wanting to get light protection but wanted to know people's opinions. If you have any headlight protection (X-PEL or otherwise) could you please post your impressions? Also, does anyone know the differences in the various products out there? I know that Mini-Madness's are quite expensive compared to Autoclearguard's.

Help a COOPer out!

I bought this

I had some difficulty applying them and they did have some foggy spots. First I usually have difficulty doing anything and second the spots have dissappeared. They look pretty cool too in blue.

I had a complete MCS X-Pel kit applied to my car. I live in MD, and there's a guy about 40 mins. from my house who does the application. No way would i try that application task on my own. Mine was the 1st he'd ever done.
I also had some "custom" work done...here's what he did extra upon my request:

1.both front windshield pillars
2.leading edge of roof (tho' now I have a Cooper Flag on the roof, so that part was removed)
3. 1 1/2 " wide ring around gas tank filler tube/pipe/whatever
4.door edges
5.the small "deck" area on the top of the back bumper, the part that precedes the trunk....ok, ok...boot.
6.14mm film on all light lenses. I think the standard stuff is only 8 or 10mm.

Yes, it was extra $$$....but worth it....especially this past winter.
Bottom line: beats trying to paint chips in your bonnet or replacing what are very expensive headlight lenses.

i'm just also wondering how is the quality between the similar products? i'm looking at primarily headlight protection and door edge protection. i know of autoclearguard and lamin-x and x-pel. please post experiences. i seen that other thread, but i believe they mostly have lamin-x there. how about the others?

I got the 3M film for the headlight and turn signals.
Initially I was disappointed 'cuz they were milky after application,
but in a few hours they cleared up. Now they are glass clear.

Don't ask where I got them - I don't remember.

I know I'm pretty demanding, but I was hoping for a little more feedback from people. I really want to order some light protection, but I really don't know which one to get...I'll probably just go with a sponsor, if no one posts anything saying that they hate theirs....

Hey there, my x-pel headlight protection is still looking great. My headlights are looking good too! If you have any specific questions you're welcome to pm me.
