front mud flaps on my MCS. 30 minutes that included rotating my tires. The best nine dollars I have spent on the car. I live on a gravel road in Colorado, the front flaps have eliminated 75% of the dirt/slop thrown onto the body. The front of the rear wheel hoops will not be getting pitted to death on this MCS. Kick *** OEM part. they are discreet looking, like they belong. Not an after thought. All that for NINE bucks

Yeah! Post a pic and tell us the part number (if you know it). Also, do they make rear mud flaps for the S? In previous threads it was determined that these only existed for the Cooper.

the part number is 82160136806
here is a link to Bridger's web site: http://www.bridger.us/mini/howto/Fro...ud%20Flaps.PDF
I am still at the fire station I will try to post a pic tomorrow when I return home. IMHO they are well worth the effort for the decreased road spray on the body

dude, that part number (82 16 0 136 806) is for the Cooper only, not the MCS. (cuz the MCS has different side sills!) Unless I'm missing something, how did you do this?!

I'm pretty sure about the part # . They are the ones offered for retail at $11. I think it is the same part for both the coop and the MCS on the front. They mounted right up and look/work great. I'll re check the PN when I get home.

The flaps look to small to me. Get some decent sized ones from any auto parts store, IMNSHO. Ron.

I have the mud flaps too. They do help alot but I think I will modify mine a bit this spring. I drive alot of dirt roads in my area and I think if I were to add a bit more rubber to the flap to extend it down about 2-3" to the bottom of the guard and about 1 more inch to the sides would really improve them, and not look like they are out of place. The mudguards do look really good on the car. They look like they came from the factory. I'm pleased with them.

....still waiting for some pics.... The sketches in the .pdf help, but they aren't quite enough.

And, I would guess that you don't want them too big, or you would constantly be scraping them since the car is already fairly low.

Bigger flaps, which stop a lot more mud, can be seen on page 137 in Member MINIs.

True, sirron, bigger flaps will stop more splatter. The ones pictured also appear to be quite flexible. I was under the impression that the OEM flaps were molded from a hard plastic. I think I would prefer the aesthetic of the hard molded style over this style - so, I guess I'd compromise some function, at least comparatively.

Other questions: Do the OEM flaps fit with aero kit side skirts? Would they look ridiculous with the side skirts?

BTW, does anyone know what the deal is with the side moulding on that car? Hard to say without seeing the whole side, but it seems kinda weird.

Yeah, maybe it'll get mouldy and fall off!

If this is in reference to my chosen spelling of the word "molding" - PARDON ME for not being English! I'm all for good spelling, but I think you're getting a little carried away. If I happend to be a Brit, would you still chastise me?

Unless sirron is a Brit, he's got HIS spelling wrong for once! He is the resident crotchety old man spelling police. There's a line between correcting someone politely, or some good-natured jocularity, and being a *****. Ron spends time on both sides of that line regularly.

Yeah, they've got some sort of not-very-attractive-looking molding glued onto that car. Unfortunate!

Nobull60, I have thought similarly for a while now.... but reality is slowly making me reconsider.

I drive on a dirt road that is frequently wet from ground water seepage - think mud - and I use Molly as a daily driver. I just don't have the time to wash her as often as is necessary to keep all the spatters off her.

The road was supposed to be paved last year and wasn't. It should be done this year, so I'm holding out on the flaps to see if it happens. *crosses fingers*

OK, I have photos, who can I email them to , so they can be posted. Don't be topissed at me for not knowing how to post photos. I'm still relatively new.
P.S. the search option provided me with 173 posts on how to post an item as my signature, but I don't believe I want to include two pics of mudflaps on every post.

Darksky, I used to have that same question about picture posting. The deal is that the picture has to exist somewhere on the web, and then use the IMAGE button at the bottom of the "Edit Post" screen to insert the URL of the picture you're trying to post. If you can't find a place to post the picture online, you can upload it to the Memebers MINIs section of MCO and link to it from there.

Once you get the hang of it, it's just like inserting a URL/web link in a post. Hope that helps!

And, Darksky, if you can't seem to manage to get it into the gallery and/or posted after that, feel free to send them to me or let me know you're having trouble and I'll gladly assist. (Click my name in my sig to send me an email.)

they look nice (from what I can see, ahem!), but do you also have a full shot of the MINI, to see the proportions? I just want to see how they break up the visual flow, if any.

Thanks, Cheers,
Ryan

Thanks again John. I think they are cool, they limit the amount of debris hitting the body somewhat without looking too dorky. Nine Bucks from Braman Mini (dealer) with the mounting hardware.
