Please Help!

I am working on a few new things with my speedometer/tachometer. I have taken it all apart, and taken the needles off. I want to be 100% certain that I have them back in the right place. Can someone (preferably with navigation or chrono pack) go out to their MINI and note two things for me? First, what position are the two needles in before you start the car? Second, what position are the two needles in after you start the car? If someone could do this for me, I would REALLY appreciate it .

Got most of your answer for you....

tach and speedo are at 0 when the car is off. When it's running, the tack is at idle and the speedo is at 0 ( when stationary). when you turn the car on while not running, the needles move a touch, and settle back to 0 and 0.

Whatcha cookin?

Also, theres a thread on Mini2 (http://www.mini2.com/forum/faq.php?f..._obc_functions) there's a description of some internal testing you can do. One of them (combi system test?) turns on all the lites on the dials, and has the needles sweep thoughout thier whole travel. Looks pretty cool!

Good luck,

Matt

Thanks for your help! As for what I am doing, it is a secret until it is finished. At this point, it is turning out to be not too successful, but we shall see... .

Oh, and thanks for reminding me about that thing on MINI2. I messed around with that a long time ago, but now I can do that and make sure the kilometer digital readout aligns with the needle.
