That link was extremley helpful. I just hope that the LCDs that I bought can be removed from the housing! :impatient

Please take care when 'poking' the wires down through the seat as there is an airbag in there

Do you know specifically where? I know there are some in the sides, but are there any on the back?

You may want to check a service manual before poking, good point. I totally forgot that airbags were in the SEATS, and clipping a wire or something on the way down would suck.

I thought I read that the plastic covering on the back of the seats "pops" off. I have never done it and a quick search didn't find any threads about it. Maybe someone with a service manaul can help out.

I know this isn't what you're looking for, but this is what I did for my daughter:

I found the Coby TF-DVD7705 for $130 + $9.99 shipping. It's a tablet style portable DVD player and comes with a headrest mounting kit, 3 hour battery, carrying case, car charger, remote control and two stereo headphones w/splitter. I didn't like the headrest mounting kit that came with it, so I got one from ProClip USA. Hard wired the power using an add-a-circuit fuse holder and ran the audio out into my aux input (I have a Sirius PnP so I use a splitter to switch between Sirius and the DVD).

The nice thing is that it takes 30 seconds to remove and take with me (or hide in the glovebox). Plus, it's a 7" widescreen with the DVD player built in!

In our Lexus, we mounted Vizualogic A-1000s. Tried to get them for the MINI, but they don't make it yet. These are great because they replace your factory headrests (so you don't have to cut into yours). If you sell the car, you can easily remove them and put them in your next car.

Good luck.
