I had the same problem with the drivers seat. My 05 MC was rear-ended about two months ago, along with some body damage, my seat had about an inch of "wiggle" in it,due to me being thrown against it! The seat was removed by the body shop and the leather upholstery removed. Inside the seat is a ratcheting mechanism that was "sprung", once it is damaged it cannot be repaired as it is welded to the frame. T he whole seat frame had to be replaced. Insurance company covered it, and the new seat frame has no movement in it at all, which is how the seat was prior to the accident. Hope this helps.

mrpip27, Did not mean to alarm you, the experience I had with my seat was due to me being hit in the rear, but there may be other reasons this could happen. I did get a good look at the seat frame when the upholstery was off the seat, the ratcheting mechanism is connected to a tube that runs across the lower back part of the seat, and as i noted, this assembly is welded to the seat side support tubes. My seat was sent from the body shop to an upholstery shop to have them check out why there was this "wiggle" in the back- rest part of the seat. It was there that they determined it wasn't repairable, and a new seat frame was ordered from the dealer. Hope everything goes well and possibly there is a way to tighten it back up, since in my case, insurance was involved, they just opted to replace it rather than try to repair it. Let me know how you make out with it.....HFM
