Just a bump for the eye thread
We had a blast at the Dragon event this year, even in the rain! It was great meeting everyone and I'm sure some photos of glorious eyes will surface soon...hmmm maybe I should start a pimp your goodies thread as our shirts were a big hit. I can't wait to do it again! yay

 

Yeah, sorry we missed it, but it couldn't be avoided. We've got some new eyes on the drawing board and some that you've been asking for for too long. Yes, yes...the "friendlier" eyes are coming.
After all there are still over a MILLION MINIs out there running around blind. We hope to see you at MITM and MMW007!

Amazingly, we've been able to create some very realistic "irises" which some of you prefer, with plain old Illustrator and Photoshop and a Gerber Edge.

 

Looks good... The little veins in Stoo's eyes still creeps me out. I still prefer the LESS realistic "cartoon" eyes, though, personally. I get a bunch of compliments on my orange ones every time I have the bonnet open.

That said... can you show me what those would look like w/ orange irises or (even better) a dark red -> orange gradient across the iris (w/ the orange showing more in the "highlight" area)? I might be tempted to get a new set - who knows?

Fatherdeth-niiiiiice, I love it when people ad personality to the eye photos, they always make me happy. Apparently I think Lilith loves grandma more than the MINI :P

 

Yeah, the veins thing is definitely a personal choice and I am more enamored with the less realistic eyes too, but variety is always good.

I'm going to try to have some of these ready by MITM, but badge production is my priority right now. You'll see an announcement when they're ready. I'm still working on the magnetic eyes project but the costs are hard to reckon with.

on the whole veins subject, we do actually offer quite a few of our eyes without veins yay, I've just been a slacker at taking photos of them. Hopefully soon I'l have some.

As you should know Imago... we have "clear" eyes too we brought them to the dragon...... among AMVIV and other events... As for the "less realistic" that's prolly not going to happen as it's not my style... but I appreciate "cartoons" but that's what DVL is for...

as for using plain old photo shop... I have been away from my workstation for over a month now and keep getting requests for custom orders... so... I have been working on a way to get this sorted out... cause I dunno when I'll get back to her... and 3D requires industry tools....
