JCW steering wheel thicker than sport?

Anybody know if the JCW steering wheel with Alcantara trim is any thicker than the standard sport three-spoke wheel?

Thanks in advance..

No actually the CF wheel inserts are a different accessory than the wheel. The steering wheel is basically the same thickness as an M3 wheel - meaning it is thicker than the stock MCS wheel. The alacantara is particularly nice.

On the contrary the CF inserts are just that.... inserts that go over the silver plastic on any MINI wheel. Nothing particularly exciting unless you're trying to match a dash or something.

Not the best but here's the alacantara version: http://www.mini2.com/forum/attachmen...5&d=1138969416

Here's another alacantara with the optional CF inserts: http://www.mini2.com/forum/attachmen...8&d=1138954673

Getting back to the original question, it does certainly look thicker than the standard issue, and there are these comments from an owner (post #51 in the thread): http://www.mini2.com/forum/interior-...st2231385.html
Yes I would say it was thicker than original. Got to say if feels a lot more comfy than the original wheel but not as thick as my M Wheel on my other car.
I'm tempted except for the price. The standard steering wheel feels so plasticy even though it is supposedly leather.

You can purchase them from any MINI dealer (leather p/n 32300397016, alcantara p/n 32300403545, both MSRP $585). The dealer would love to install it for you too.
