How-to Remove Gas Pedal Assembly?

Any one know how to remove the gas pedal assembly? I have checked the Bently and done quite a few searches, but no luck. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

There is a tab on the base of the pedal assembly, between the floor mount and the base of the pedal against the firewall, on the right side. Use a screwdriver to press this tab down while pushing the pedal assembly using the base, to the right. There is also a slot in the 'heel' part of the pedal where it meets the floor. You may have to push the pedal assembly rather hard when it encounters the carpeting on the floor tunnel. Once you have cleared the mounting, release the connector. Do not turn the key on while the pedal assembly is disconnected, or you will set a code. Reverse the steps to reassemble.

I can not see anything on the right side of the assembly except the wiring. I do see a tab on the left side of the assembly, is that the tab you are speaking of maybe?

Yes, I think he has his left and right mixed up. The pedal moves to the left.
This should help.

Part 2 stays bolted to the floor, part 1 will slide to the left after pressing the tab on 2.

Excellent info!

I am removing the assembly for a pedal upgrade. Much easier process when the assebly is not in the footwell.

BTW onasled, did you ever get a chance to check on that airbag harness?

Thanks a lot!

Ok, I was able to get the assembly removed. There is a tab in the middle of the assembly on the left side. This tab needs to be pressed down towards the floor while pushing the assembly towards the brake pedal (left). It took a little bit of doing as the steering column partialy interfers with upper portion. After the assemply sides out of the mount, then the wiring needs to be disconnected. It is fastened with a simple compression fitting. Just squeeze each side and pull the connector out.

Thanks for everyone's help. Now on to the fun part ...
