Don't Wait!!!! Do it Now!!! With all of the gravel that we now have on the road after our little snow flurry you car is going to be bathed in gravel for the next month  but it did make the car that was tailgating me back off when it hit him . The rock put a ding through the plastic but not the paint.

BTW welcome to MINI ownership, have you joined MINI5280 yet (shameless plug for DiD )?

I recently heard the clear masks can peel away & yellow. I've also heard it will eventually look like a piece of tape of that portion of the bonnet. I've heard horror stories of people having to replace theirs every 6 mos.
The 3M stonegard that I.D.S. uses won't do that. I have had the same material on my Jetta for almost 3 years now with no problems with discoloration. There are a couple of black smudged on it though where a couple of tire chunks hit the leading edge of the hood after getting kicked up by the car in front of me.

Thanks for plugging MINI5280

Yellowing problems have been solved by experience installers. I'd go to a detailing shop that doesn't have a big banner adverstising a particular brand, you want someone who has worked out the best product (3M? Invisishield? Don't know the brand my installer uses).

A good installer will be able to respond to those issues for you. Yellowing and peeling shouldn't be a problem. The appearance of the edge line is largely related to how clean you keep your car; it shows up more when dirty.

If you get a quality installation, you won't regret it.

>>Mini of Peabody works with AutoBahnd ( http://www.autobahndint.com ). i have this installed on my car and am pleased with the results. Before getting it installed, I actually talked directly to the folks at autobahnd. They have their own guys do all of the installs. You can also count on Mini of Peabody to stand behind what they sell.

It was pricey. I think i paid 500? Autobahnd works with a bunch of dealers around New England from what I can tell. I dont know if they will install their product directly or if they only go through dealers. Give them a call. I think this is the correct number ( (508)261-0308 ).

If I get the clear bra put on, will it cause any problems if I choose to take it off later?? sticky stuff, messed up paint, etc.? Also, I already have a few small chips up front. Should I cover them with touch up paint before putting the bra on? I don't know if it will make any difference or not. Thanks.
