Does anyone know where I can find a replacement rear license plate bracket without having to buy one from the dealer and get scalped?

 

Should be able fo find something workable at a local autoparts store, I know Wal-Mart carries frames screws and some mounts, but I don't know how well those would work on a MINI

 

I would check walmart or even eBay. You could also post a want ad on the NAM Market place.

 

Plate carrier from MINI dealer Part Number 51-18-0-141-089 $20.88, just bought one. This is the part that attaches to the boot with two screws. The plate and any plate frame attaches to the carrier with 4 metric screws. Be sure to get the right length. Don't want to poke through the felt backing that is between the carrier and the body.

Autozone, et. al. carry universal plastic versions for next to nothing.

Mini Mania has them. Around 40.00 bucks. Also Kragen has them for around 16.00 bucks

 

I got mine from Pelican Parts...forget exactly what I paid for it, but I want to say it was under $20
