I need a bike rack and considered the mini rack but, now I'm looking at getting a mini tow hitch and getting a rack that mounts in the tow hitch. My other reason for not getting the mini roof rack is that my free ride bike weights about 45 lbs by its self. An normally I carry another bike with mine, they normally weigh about 30 lbs. So 75 pounds plus rack weight on a mini is a disaster waiting to happen. O' and I'd still have to lift a 45 lbs bike onto the roof.
