Interior/Exterior Question about DIY factory driving light install
Question about DIY factory driving light install
I completed a DIY installation of the factory driving light kit over two days this weekend...probably a total of about 10 hours. Let me say that I'm a fairly practiced do-it-yourselfer, but this was a stone cold b*tch to do and fought me every step of the way. I would rather replace the entire suspension on my '76 BMW 2002 than tackle this again. Still, it's done, and done well, I'd say. However...
The factory instructions were obtained from MotoringFile.com. Everything made sense except for where the instructions say to mount the fuse box and the ground lugs. According to the instructions, the inertia switch is mounted in that well on the driver's side between the firewall and the engine compartment, next to a ground stud. There is nothing there on my '04! Nothing at all. I wound up running the ground cables through a gasket to a ground lug next to the hood hinge, but the fuse box and bracket are just sitting in that well for the time being. I'd like to get it hard-mounted.
What is the word about these discrepancies? Have people just drilled new holes to mount the fuse box bracket?
TIA,
Tim
