MCS matte black?

So as many of you know I brought my MCS 05 Jet black to NYC from LA. The difference is radical especially in weather as it is very rough. (Luckily my car sleeps indoors and I barely use it)

Anyways, even with the advantage of having the car taken care indoors I have acquired some nice scratches when I park on the street for more than 1 hour.

SO:

How about getting he car painted Matte Black? I think it would be very nice. Any thoughts? Is there any matte Minis out there?

An example would be like the way Russell Mitchell's Exile Bikes are painted.

feel your pain

--I feel your pain man. I've got a jet black too and not less than two weeks old and another Mini Cooper scratches my clear coat at a club meet. Matte Black might be cool, but its curves won't be fully appreciated or accentuated with the dull paint job. Just my $.02. I'm thinking the only way to make the car impervious to scratches is the paint it camouflaged so you can't see any damage on the car.

A couple years ago Sport Compact Car painted their MCS matte metallic black. I too have a '05 JB/B MCS, and while I'm not too bothered by the difficulty of keeping it clean, I have nonetheless been toying with the idea getting a custom matte black paint job and having all chrome trim bits powdercoated bronze (more "sports bronze" than gold).

Here's a link to the SCC article:

I see the possibilities there. Also the camouflage idea sounds pretty awesome specially if painted with variations of black. It could be cool.
Seriously for me the idea of painting the car flat black seems quite promising.
Just like this bike.

(Keep in mind it looks a little weird because of the rain drops), but isn't that an amazing effect?
Imagine your supper beautiful mini with a dull matte paint job!
PS: I love my car and it is still perfect, but perhaps some less bling through none high gloss body paint can be an excellent dichotomy between beautiful and rough effect.

I have been toying with the idea of building a Rat-rod type classic Mini. I would paint it matte black with pinstriping and orange steel wheels with moon hubcaps.
