Ahhhhhh! I ripped my seat!

Standard octagon cloth panther black seats. I am stupid. So stupid. I put my backpack down on top of my seat, and a pencil (clicking kind) stuck into the seat back through my backpack. Upon picking my backpack up, I now have a frayed thread sticking out of the seat, and horizontal lines where the thread was pulled taught. I don't have a camera with me to take a picture.

Can this be fixed? I'm afraid to start tugging on the thread to "fix" the problem. By tugging, I'd be trying to tug the thread that moved horizontally back to where it originally came from, NOT pulling on the frayed thread coming out of the seat.

I don't think so. I know I replaced the covers on my bug (that is to say, I actually reupholstered them), but don't think the MINI has that ability...

Considering that tailors are able to "re-weave" damaged cloth, it may be worth asking one to take a quick look.
