Aero grill in Rochester/Upstate NY

Hi Guys,

I plan to do the aero grill on my MCS and if there are others in the area that are interested, maybe we can get together to a do a few cars at the same time.

If you have done this upgrade already and want to supervise, I have beer and food!!!

Third, if someone that has done the trimming of the middle section is willing to trim one up and ship it to me, I would pay for that!!!

Vince

That is a great idea for someone manually challanged as myself, if somebody has done it (right), can buy the Aero grill kit, prep it for install and ship it (with payment , of course), i will stand in line as well.

PS.I have an earlier related post, I am in Miami (help!!).

I might be interested, but depends on what the cost would be. I've never priced out the aero grille. Do you know the cost, (before any group-discount would take effect), of the aero grille???

I might be interested, if the price is right...

I've thought about this on and off, but have never gotten around to it. As I recall the upper grill doesn't look to be especially difficult, but the lower is a different story. I might be interested in the upper portion. I'm in the Bushnell's Basin area so we're relative neighbors.

Yep, the upper part is a no brainer, the lower part is the one you have to dissmantel the bumper and then cut the grill to fit into place. If somebody has already cut it and knows how much or how less to cut, it can save a 38 dollar part

The upper grill is harder than it looks, but still not hard. The plastic washer things are very difficult to get off.

As a follow up for my Syracuse and Bushnell Basin friends, the bonnet grill lists (as per the catalogue) for approx $51 and the top bumper grill is $37.

I am in Fairport and I have another friend in Pittsford that would do it. I might even be able to arrange for the use of my racecar sponsor's shop in Greece. But I have the space and the tools.

Even though I am a CPA by day, I am fairly mechanically inclined and have built 3 BMW Club Race cars over the last 4-5 years as well as a number of driver school cars. I think it would be fun to get a few of us together and do them at the same time. I am sure Towne will give us a discount so we can save a few $$$ over list. Maybe we could even buy an extra top bumper piece to experiment on since that's the one that get dremeled.

I would like to do this in the next few weeks as every time I see the fornt of my car (MCS w/ the chrome package), I lust for the black aero grill.
