Has anyone refinished their interior trim. I'm getting alloy patina on my MCS due in april (just too long a wait, narf) and was thinking of alternate possibilities. Paint exterior color? the carbon fiber kits already out look way cheesy (as do most CF kits). OOh what about Chrome, or Powder-coated!? mmm...ideas.....

Did you say "narf"??? Pinky are you thinking what I'm thinking? (reference to Pinky and the Brain) "I think so Brain, but where are we going to find rubber pants our size?"

Okay,... ignore that.
Chrome was ruled out in the 60's so drivers arn't blinded, I would think the same would happen if you chromed the major part of the dash. I myself have considered painting or coloring the dash body color. I'm sure it would be fairly easy to do, but I question the long term effects. Will it chip, scratch, ding, etc.

I have seen pics of partial painting somewhere on MCO, but I'm not sure where.

A few people have already started painting the interior bits. I think that the colors look cheap in the photos. In person they might look better when you can see how it matches the body color--DS or BLK might look sharp with a DS or BLK mini.

I think it would look good on an MCS that originally had Alloy Patina. Then just paint the patina parts (dash and oval on door) and leave the bright silver parts (speedo/tach/speakers/down tubes/etc). This could look VERY sharp and I'm considering this right now as a spring project. I've got a DS/B with the panther black/silver cloth. Painting just the patina parts DS would be stunning, IMO.

Painting it all just looks tacky to me.

yea, the above pics look a bit over-the-top to me. you guys have good points on the darker colors looking better (less cheap)

davbret; it would be interesting to see your results if you go ahead painting your patina DS. i don't think the feel of the interior would change much, but smooth out the look of the IP with the dark silver.
