They're certainly not for everybody! As excited as I am to see a high-quality grille replacement, I'm not even sure they're for me.

I would like them better if they had some trim around the outside that could be painted body color. Basically my dream would be a metal version of the aero kit grilles.

I do think these look very purposeful and racy, though, and would help de-cute-ify my MINI.

I have had a silver lower grill on my ds/w MCS for quite a while and like the look solo......without upper and middle. The grill is also perfect for attaching a badge or two....I added an England badge on the passenger side that gives it a unique look.

Rednwhite....have you tried putting the MCS piece onto the MC bumper? I think of any place that is where you would run into problems....

I took them and compared them, and they look exact...but maybe something is off?

With my exhaust, wind noise would never be heard . If there is any such noise, I can't imagine it being too significant though...

Along those lines, I'm wondering if the flow through (yes, they are open) will help any in preventing our backsides from getting so dang dirty! It's my hope that this air movement might carry away some of the dust and debris that now gets thrown upwards, and onto our derriere...

The OEM upper and mid grill share the same part numbers between Cooper and Cooper S (the outter trim on top is the same, the mid bumper is exact). So the upper Ultimate grill *should* fit, whereas the mid grill WILL fit the Cooper. The lower Ultimate grill will not fit the stock Cooper bumper.

Ther are two ways to install the rear grills. You can do as I did and leave the aluminum heat sheilding behind the grill which will not let any air thru or yo can remove it. I have talked to one customer that removed th heat sheild and he did not notice any additional noise. My feeling is that there would be no noticable sound. If there was the easy solution would be to block off the back of the grills and they will still have a improved appearance over the plastic.

MC Upper & Middle Grill Fit

So Everyone agrees that the Upper and Middle grills will fit the MC because they are the same parts, right?

I'll probably wait for someone else to be the guinea pig on this before jumping in with both feet.

Are there any grill differences? Angle (because of the "S" scoop), or Bumper cover angles are the only potential problems I can think of.

Black on Black sure would be nice...

Also how would this work with driving lights- OEM or Piaa?

Found a little better picture of all 3 grills isntalled. As I mentioned earlier the upper grill was still in the prototype stage . The finished product fits the opening completely and has no "waveness".

Looks great! Did you take the same material and put it in the brake ducts? To make those did you just widen the existing fog light holes?

I cut just away sections of the heat shield in back of the rear grills. It doesn't make any noise and I like the look of my stainless Borla exhaust through the grills.

I used a similar material and also cut the fog light holes wider. Basicly cut out the indented part of the lamp housing if that makes any sence.

Cool - did you use any tubing behind the mesh to direct air to the brakes?

So let me see if i have this straight. Your car is the one pictured with " sugar " painted on the dash with all the little stars and you say that the grills make that car look cheap? If anything deserved a nice blue neon glow it has to be " SUGAR "
