HAve any been made or modified? I was thinking a blue anondized would look cool.

That would be nice...but can you anodize steel I know that in the gun industry, they have many new coating technology (camo ***** anyone ) that are incredibly tough as they must live up to mil-spec.

Anodizing is a process for aluminum only.

I did have a couple ***** plated black for some customers, but it was expensive in small quantities, took forever, and the quality I received was not very good.

I don't think I'll be going down that road again.

YO ucan get "blueing" for steel...they use that on guns too...check you local gun store...it's pretty kewl...then you can put a clear coat over it orsomethign so it doesn't wear off...

You could have them powder coated, they have several translucent colors. Another option would be the teflon type coating offered by Olympic Arms, this can be had in several combinations including camo.
