Interior/Exterior Black belt line..IM SO MAD WITH THAT
Black belt line..IM SO MAD WITH THAT
Hello guys.
I want to make beltline black(de-chrome) i have already bought all the available black trims..(headlights-taillights trim, air intel grille) but there isnt a black belt line.
The only way to do it besides the DIY(ready cut smps stickers etc) is to visit some wrapping company to do it.Which i DID.
The result its not pefect for 2 reasons.
1.The previews owner most probably tried to dechrome as well and cut JUST a little bit some of the rubbers(lower-upper of the chrome) so when they put the sticker still there is some 0.1mm++ of the nickel trim which i f@@@ hate it. I want it to be PERFECT like it has been done from the factory.
2.Its is almost impossible to make the black sticker thicker than the nickel trim and put the sticker under the rubbers
SO..Solutions?
If i buy them all new and take away the rubbers+caps(1 cap on each side of each trim part) from the trim will i be able to fit again the rubbers on the grill? Because if that is possible i will be able to put(the wrapping company) sticker all over the nickel trim and then the rubbers will be placed over the sticker so nothing will be visible at all and the result will be as pefect as possible.
Or i can even remove all the nicker with some sandpapper or smothing then put a primer and paint them.
If there is ANY other way or ANY shop in the world that sell PERFECT BLACK LINE TRIM im willing to buy a complete set.
I dont care for the cost i just want the job get done PERFECT.
Thank you so much for your time.!

Sorry you paid someone to perform that job. With a steady hand, it is very simple.
If you are not happy with the vinyl tape product, you can mask and spray Pastidip. That will cover the chrome pretty well.

Plastidip its a matte solution not a gloss(yes now there is some new plastidip thats gloss(never seen that before anyway) but plastidip will fade out after washing your car because paint cannot be attached on a nickel surface.
The main question is if its possible to remove the rubbers from the nickel and fit them again.
Anyone did that and know if it is possible or not?
Still much better though.
That sucks.
3m Scotchcal black pinstripe tape..I think the size id 5/8..If you want something more permanent.. You have a lot of masking to do..But SEM Trim Black..They make different levels of no gloss to gloss..No primer needed just clean well..
