2005 MCS shift **** size?

so i'm looking into getting a new shift **** for my r53 but i don't really know what will fit. im aware that it doesn't use a thread and you pull it off but one i'm looking at has a 10 or 12mm euro adapter. does anyone know if the 10 or 12 mm euro adapter would work? which one? 10 or 12mm is referring to the width of the shifter stalk.

Grab the salt shaker and take this w/ a grain of it, but... My weighted M12x1.25 shifter **** came in before my SSK. Being ever so patient, I decided I would just look into threading the top of the stock shifter and use it that way until the SSK came in... Yeah, no. Top of the stock shifter was considerably larger. I didn't caliper it, but I'd estimate 14-16mm. This was an '03 Justa, so YMMV.
