M7...it took alittle more modding than I was happy to deal with but now that it is done I love it...I got the aero kit an all the arches done at the same time plus the inteirior....so its a little over whelming...heh ehh....

the mold was off still is in some ways...the area where the grill mounts was none exsistent....I can see in the VIS pics though it's there and good to go...there was minor grinding and such ...and all of the holes have to be drilled...no biggie but little nerve racking....the thing that really annoyed me was that the head lights ...the brackets they are supposeto hook up to were also not made right and needed much grinding and accually we had to make aluminium brackets to mount then to...none of the fender clips will work cause the bonnet is not set up for it it's too think and if you grid it then you are making it too thin and weak so custom mounting had to be done...there is more but I can't think of it...it took three days of fitting...and this was not me this is a well renound shop that fabricates stuff all the time and works on very high end stuff....lambos ferarris etc....

I know fabrication of this bonnet is not easy...it's the most complicated hood in production....I just feel that if you are going to charge a preimium for a product it should represent that.....I have never had a problem paying for quality....if it wasn't for the fact that I took the bonnet to the best damn body shop I have ever seen then I woulda sent it back....honestly I feel it should be "plug and play" this was not...this required alot of tools and fabrication that only a shop would have/do persay..... not just the tools I posses which are by far enough to take the car apart and put it back together....and have the knowledge to do so...

anywho...I do not want to put down M7s stuff...it's great....I will still buy much stuff from peter

just know in order to get the bonnet installed right I recommend going to pros....

again now that's it's done I love it! and it was a good expirence in my book cause the guys at Elwood let me hang out everyday to help work on it since I am not a total clout......hey know I love my car...plus I'd like to think I was a help...

Wow that pic is terrible...I'll take a good one tomorrow in the sun....

Thanks for the info Chris.

The reason I was asking is I wanted to know what one has to do to it after paying 850$ for the hood. I wonder how much work the ViS Racing hood requires for 550$.

Looks great.
Although M7 do make evolutionary products, they do fall short in Carbon terms. Having to go through the process of shipping some bits to SE Asia, to find a splitter which is'nt CF as well as lasting only a couple of weeks due to high-speed design faults. Add to that a wing which required redrilling + rivetting of the wing to fit on the car. Add drilling new holes into upper boot!
Great stuff but, yeah, major fitting probs unfortunately, and yes I will continue to buy M7 stuff anyway!

Looks good! I think the hood might look good on a PW with gunmetal/anthracite or even black wheels.

it looks good so far. i agree it should have been a better fit for the price from what you say you had to do. could you show some under hood shots and details of what you had to mod, like the head light bracket, how you mounted the grill and fender flares. thanks.

I'm not liking the white stripes..looks better without them IMHO...Did u ever think about painting the hood regularly and leaving CF Stripes...like the area where the stripes regularly go, left unpainted so its cf...

Leaving it wouldn't go with the white top INMOP I have had this planned out for years way before I got the car...

Everyone can critique that's kewl...but I love it adn that's all that matters...
