I just got a new 4-door S, and wondered if anybody has experience in fitting an aftermarket rack set? Dealer quoted me $1300 to install the OEM set! I was looking at the Thule "naked roof" options.

Been looking around as well. Does yours have the factory rails? Mine does not and I really wish it came with it.

 

Nope, just the bare roof. I had a Yakima set on my Clubman, but the Thule and Yakima sites don't include the F55 as an option ("working on a solution," per Yakima). They look like they'd work...

The rails are great, but too expensive as an aftermarket mod.

 

I'm very excited to hear possible options which will help with the longer drives! A roof rack would have helped. I've seen some nice Thule setup. Time to save money!!!

 

I too am interested in putting a rack on a Cooper 4-door S (2015). Anyone had success with this? I don't like the look of the Mini Base Support System (and the MINI USA website told me that part isn't compatible with my car?), I want a rack that I don't have to have on the car full-time, and I don't want my fuel efficiency to be affected by having a full-time rack.

I sure wish I'd though to get the rails when I bought the car.
