This is a real standard problem.... usually one of the first complaints from new MINI owners. You will find many threads dedicated to the problem and easy fixes on both NAM as well as MINI2.com.

Later you will experience rattles from the dash, doors, boot as well as many others yet to be discovered. Enjoy the car for it's pluses.

finalphaze, my rattle was coming from the air deflector paddles. I found that after putting a light grease or heavy oil on the tabs that connect the deflectors to the roof, the rattle would go away. worth a try anyway.

good luck.

Just wait till it gets cold....and the plastic parts contract..."rattle...rattle..rattle...".

So many rattles, so many smiles even with all the creeking I can drive for miles
