With it in park, grab it with both hands and compress the button...while holding the button in the compressed position pull straight up really hard...voila...good luck
Now i assume that you wont be sewing it while the boot is still on the shifter...so i will just put up the steps to getting the boot off.
You have to remove the silver surround at the base, in order to do that you just have to pull straight up on it...pull as straight as possible for this one cause there are thin plastic rods that position it correctly. you then have to unclip the section that has the gear selection lights in it...the clips are pretty obvious, then you will see how to remove the boot enjoy.:smile:
