You're not confused - you got it right.

Yes to the first part, #2 on the list covers the two front cupholders (or ashtray as I called it).

I don't know what the part number is for the rear cup holder - it won't fit my 2003. Ask the dealer.

I'll post pics later. The handbrake is the roughly the same as the stock, plastic parts fore and aft of the grip are chromed.

MINI2 has a chrome line interior thread with step by step DIY photos. You can see the handbrake there in the meantime.

I ordered all the bits from Classic the other day. Should be getting here on the 27th. It only cost 85 dollars, including shipping. I really hope I ordered everything!

You can find chromed metal covers at www.minispeed.co.uk if you're looking for an OEM look for the tach. Very good prices and they're chromed stainless. I got the tach and shifter rings with shipping for about $60, which was less than I've seen the tach cover alone for (and without shipping). I used the OEM pieces for the speedo and air vents and love the look. I have a RSpeed brake handle and Whalen ****, so that's enough bling for me!

I finally got my chrome in the mail today. The reason its so much cheaper...its definitely chrome plated plastic. Like, really cheap stuff. Im sure it'll look good in the car, but its just the same pieces we have in our cars now, just painted chrome. Oh well. At least I didnt have to pay much.

Hmmm? I wonder if "chrome paint I have seen at paint dept of Lowes and Home Depot might in fact give the same results for a total price of less than $5.00 ? Anybody ever try thison their existing parts before ordering new ones?

I agree it's a lot of money, but I am very happy with the look and quality.
I also have the RSpeed stuff and it adds some quality credibility to the interior. The new Mini stuff in the convertible looks IMHO cheap and over done.

I just found this Website and it has a step-by-step guide to fitting the MINI parts. Thanks, Josh! http://www.jwardell.com/mini/chrome.html

Black steel = HOT!!

It was so nice today though...low 50s so I drove home with the windows and sunroof down. Just a couple more months and I can put the black steel away again until November.

Anyone have any info on pricing or part numbers for the rear cup holder chrome ring? I'm looking to get one of these since I have the chrome line interior kit from the factoy, but I used to have a center armrest and it didn't come with a chrome ring in the rear.
