Gas Milage with Trailer, Color scheme

EAG, How does that tear drop shaped trailer affect your gas mileage?

I put a few hundred miles on the MCS / Trailer combination in June, and found that my "cruise" mileage dropped from 36 to about 28 when pulling a cube shaped trailer with very little weight at about 60 mph. I attribute it to the square front and rear of the trailer.

The trailer tongue is extended from normal by a foot (for other uses) and apparently the air flow around the Mini is running right into the front of the trailer.

After seeing your nice little aluminum trailer I was inspired to paint my plain wooden box to match the car.

Trailer Gas Mileage

JDEWEY,

I'm pretty sure we got about 22 MPG on our road trips, although we had probably 100+ lbs of ALTA parts in the trailer. The nice thing about the teardrop is that it's shape is aerodynamic. We also have modded the car quite a bit, so that may affect the mileage as well.

Thanks,
