So I 've got the rain sensing wipers on our MINI. I've managed to avoid having to put any decals on the exterior of my windshield.

However, that may be changing in the next few months very much against my wishes. Even worse, I may be forced to place the decal on the top center of the windshield... right where the sensor is!

So the question is, where are the safe places on the windshield to put exterior decals, and how much if at all can the sensor be covered?

I use the black box on the inside of the windshield as my guide.

It may not be a problem for you anyway. Take a look at the other car I drive Campagnolo Race Service (Hey, I know it's a Volvo - but it's a sponsorship so I didn't pay for it!) We put the VOLVO lettering across the top of the windshield (the "L" covers the rain sensor), and have found that the rain sensing wipers in our cars still work just fine. I can't promise that the MINI design will have the same performance, but you may not have trouble even if you end up with a sticker top center.
