I'm thinking it might be possible to modify the openmeter to read something that is actually useful like water temp, oil pressure, boost, etc.

I like the gauge because it matching the others. I'm thinking that I could fabricate a new meter face (matching the oem colors, etc.) to display the desired parameter and all would be good. Does anyone know if the gauge is "sealed" or can if it be disassembled.

Also does anyone know the input, it is digital or analog. I believe it to be digital. I think it connects directly to the ECU.

I might go by the dealership and see if they have a gauge in stock that I could look at.

The housing opens easily. You'd have to gut the Openometer gauge completely and find something that fits in the same space (and it is not a standard gauge size).
