Interior/Exterior water in boot!

water in boot!

ok so im installing some sound dandening material.
and today was one of the rainiest days here in PR, and i noticed water here.

any solution?
has this happend to someone?

had to remove the mat

I get water in there too. I haven't found a solution for it yet...

Used to happen to us. Fortunately the car was still under warranty so the dealership put in the 16-ish man hours to find the two leaks. The first time the rear sunroof drains weren't hooked up. The second time the seal between the hatch "handle" and the hatch was bad.

+1 on checking the sunroof drains first. You can check the front ones also so you will not water water in the footwell too, since you will be looking at the sunroof all together.


Check the to cassette where the water drains in the corners. Sunroof drain tubes. They can clog with debris and such. There are two in the front and two in the rear. #2 and #3 in pics.

Also if they are clean and look ok the drain tube might be leaking. You have to get behind the headliner and A pillars to see for the front. For the rear its under the headliner near the D pillar and sometimes the tubes can become disconnected, thus leaking water into the trunk area.
