has anyone separated the feet from the bars to paint the bars, i'm not able to figure out how they come apart.

nevermind, it just too another cup of coffee to help. it's actually really easy.

if you look at the bottom of the foot where it meets the bars there's two pins running through it. with the foot latch open, look in the bars, you can see the two pins. press the pins down with a flat screwdriver to push them back through the foot kit, remove them from the underside and the foot will just slide off. it takes all of 30 seconds.

 

Wow, I'll have to try that. I just gave up when I saw the pins and assumed it was going to be a huge pain in the ***.

 

It's also shown in the how to section with pictures.

 

Damn, now I have to decide if I want to wrap the bars again or just piece in to fill the gap I left.

 

ack.. see what a lack of coffee does in the morning, makes ya completely forget about the search function too.
