skid plate ideas

I am interested in getting a skid plate for my R52. I don't race so weight is not as important as strength. Looking at the COBALT due to price / weight but would like other's input. What are you guys using and are you happy with it?

I have this one on my 2011 Clubman S...

http://www.rennline.com/Skid-Plates/products/925/

A bit pricey, but oh boy so nicely made and fits perfectly... All hardware was included with it and mounting was easy... Important: covers entire exposed area of the engine and "hugs" it from both front and rear. No chance of something getting stuck if you go reverse... Just saying'...

I got mine through Moss IIRC Aluminum, sturdy and have had no issues after thousands of mines and multiple oil changes. The hardware that comes with it was crap but beyond that its a great product. Cheap insurance for your car.

The Rennline's look good also, I like that Oil labeling.

Currently have the Cobalt Aluminum purchased through Moss MINI. I purchased it when I lowered my car about 3 years ago and have had no issues to the plate itself. It came with round head allen bolts which stripped out the first attempt to remove the skid plate. Also the Cobalt kit came with red loctite to secure the bolts...long story short dont use it. It makes getting the bolts out nearly impossible. So if you go with the Cobalt kit replace the cheap bolts and avoid red loctite. The Cobalt kit has holes for power steering cooling and oil changes.

The Cobalt Aluminum Skid Plate from MossMINI will fit any R50, R52, or R53.
